London to Paris cycle challenge

This challenge is a fantastic experience, joining two of Europe’s major cities. We cycle through some of the most picturesque countryside of South East England and some very beautiful villages and towns in Northern France. Our journey takes us from the outskirts of London to the centre of Paris, our finale being the magnificent Eiffel Tower.
Intinerary
Day 1 London – Dover – Calais Distance approx 90 miles
We depart early from London in order to beat the rush hour traffic. Our route takes us along some picturesque routes of the South East. After a welcome lunch stop we continue through the afternoon with one or two challenging climbs along the North Downs before arriving into Dover. From here we catch the late afternoon ferry to Calais. Riders are expected to buy their own dinner on board. On arrival into Calais we cycle to our hotel for a well earned rest.
Day 2 Calais – Arras Distance approx 90 miles
Today we head south along some of the quieter roads, through quaint French villages and towns. Our lunch stop is in the small town of Roquetoire. During the afternoon we pass by some of the war cemeteries, a reminder of this region’s past. The evening is spent in Arras, capital city of the region and one of the prettiest towns of Northern France. Dinner is provided at a local restaurant in the centre of town.
Day 3 Arras – Compiegne Distance approx 80 miles
This morning we will pass by more of the war cemeteries then along quiet country roads before stopping for lunch. This afternoon we continue our ride through the picturesque region before reaching Compiegne, our destination for the night. Dinner is provided locally before heading for bed in preparation for the big day tomorrow.
Day 4 Compiegne – Paris Distance approx 50 miles
The adrenalin is pumping as we set off on our final day of cycling. This morning is relatively calm and picturesque. Lunch is a welcome break ready for the afternoon’s excitement. This is the part we have all been waiting for. This afternoon we head for Paris and regroup before setting off in convoy through the centre of Paris, pass the Arc De Triomphe and along the Champs Elysee before finishing at the base of the Eiffel Tower. We have time for photos and a few tears of joy then it’s on to our hotel to prepare for the evening’s celebration dinner cruise along the River Seine. Bicycles are packed up and head back to meet us at St Pancras tomorrow.
Day 5 Paris – London St Pancras
The day is free for you to enjoy Paris and its delights. It will be your responsibility to find your own way to the Gare du Nord to catch the Eurostar back to London St Pancras where you will be reunited with your bicycles.
