Africa - Tanzania Expedition 2009
Following in the foot steps of Africa's most famous explorers - Livingstone, Stanley, Burton, Speke - East Africa has endless possiblities for adventure.
Mt. Meru
One of Africa's most beautiful volcanos and also one of the highest at 4600m. It's a great way to acclimatise for Kilimanjaro and improves your chances of reaching the summit. The views of Kilimanjaro and into the ash cone are truly amazing. It's also a great trek to do before going on safari and not as demanding as Kilimanjaro.

Cost £585pp
Kilimanjaro - The Roof of Africa
The highest free standing mountain in the world and also the highest mountain on the African continent at 5896m. Named 'Kilema Kyaro' by the Chagga people meaning 'that which cannot be conquered'. We cross 5 ecological zones during our ascent; montane forest, alpine heath, moorland, highland desert and ice cap. Which all makes a truly amazing trek.
Dates for 2009: 26 Sept-2Oct: 23-30 Oct: 5-12 Nov.

Zanzibar
The spice island of Zanzibar in the Indian Ocean is the perfect way to end any trip with its tropical beaches, great diving and snorkeling. Zanzibar has a facinating culture and an incredible history and is also home to the endemic Zanzibar Red Colubus Monkey.
Safari
Tanzania is a game viewing paradise. Ngorongoro is home to the largest concentration of wildlife anywhere in Africa. Manyara is well know for it's tree climbing lion and abundant bird life. The Masaai also graze their cattle while co-excisting along side wild game. It's the perfect way to relax before heading home.
