Wiltshire’s Air Ambulance was established in April 1990. Since its launch, the Air Ambulance has attended thousands of incidents, providing an essential emergency medical service throughout the County. Wiltshire Air Ambulance is entirely dependent public support has to raise over £700,000 each year to cover a third of the running costs of the helicopter. WAA receives NO government funding but relies on the generosity of the businesses and people of Wiltshire to support our fundraising needs.

Everyone in Wiltshire has a stake in the Wiltshire Air Ambulance. It is an essential service that serves all the people of Wiltshire what ever your age or gender. We fly 19hours, 365 days of the year and are there for those life and death situations where the speed of the helicopter and the skill of the crew play a major part in the outcome of the patient.

Here are some more facts and information on the Mount Toubkal.

Mt Toubkal Climb Date 23rd September – 27th September 2013

Trekking in Morocco has to be one of the best ways to discover this intoxicating country, getting off the beaten track and exploring the Atlas Mountians visiting traditional Berber villages that have changed very little in centuries, climbing Mt Toubkal 4167m makes High Atlas a great destination for Adventure.

At 4,167m Mt Toubkal is the highest mountain in North Africa. The climb to the summit is challenging, but requires little mountaineering experience the panoramic views from the summit over the High Atlas are truely outstanding.

After our arrival in Marrakech we have some time to explore this fasinating city before a short transfer to the Berber village of Imlil were we spend the night in a local gite, the following day we load up all our equipment and food supplies before slowly making our way to Azib Tamsoult (camp) 2400mt passing through terraced fields and remote villages which gives us a great insight into berber life.

The following day is a planned aclimatisation day, our main aim for today is the mountain pass of Aglzim 3400mt, once on the pass we will have lunch and have time to enjoy the stunning views of the High Atlas before finally arriving in our camp in the Mizzane Valley 3200mt. After a good nights sleep under the stars, it’s an early start as we start our climb to the summit of Mt Toubkal the highest peak in North Africa, once on the summit there are unrestricted views in every direction form the Marrakech Plain to the Sahara Desert in the south. We will then retrace our steps back to camp for lunch before making our way back to Imlil for a well earnt shower nd celebration meal.
