Evening Prior
Evening prior – Betws-y-Coed

We recommend arriving in Betws-y-Coed the night prior to the start of your Adventure Queens trip so you have the chance to meet your crew and your fellow adventurers and attend a trip briefing. This is at your own expense allowing you the flexibility to book and have dinner where you wish. It’s a great little village to explore as it’s the gateway to the peaks and lakes of Snowdonia National Park. More info will be provided on booking this trip.

Day 1
Trek, pack-raft and overnight wild camp

Your self-powered wilderness adventure begins.

Starting in the heart of Snowdonia National Park, your journey begins with trekking over a mountain pass before hiking through idyllic woodlands to reach the shores of a picturesque upland lake. Setting up your pack-raft, it’s time to paddle across this beautiful lake framed by the Gwydir Forest. After a full day of adventure it’s time to set up a wild camp in the secluded setting of an ancient oak woodland. Our expert advice will ensure you have a comfortable night’s sleep in the great outdoors and learn new skills: from tarpology to responsible fire making and outdoor cooking skills as well as tips on ultra-light travel and foraging. You’ll be tucked up asleep in plenty of time ready for the following day’s journey.

We incorporate our ‘leave no trace’ principles including responsible fire lighting, setting up/going to the loo in the wild and ensuring we leave the camp and our surroundings in pristine condition.

Included

Meals: Camp dinner
Accommodation: Wild camp (tents and camping equipment provided)
Equipment: Tents, sleeping matts, camping equipment, single pack-raft,  buoyancy aid and paddles (all hygienically cleaned).

Day 2
Trek and pack-raft

You’ll awake to the early morning sounds of the woodlands, have a camp breakfast before packing up to be ready for the next exciting leg of your journey.

Leaving your wild camp in pristine condition, you’ll trek through the woodlands and down to Conwy Valley floor whilst taking in some incredible views of the basin. On reaching the banks of the river at Trefriw, your pack-raft journey continues as you paddle with the river flow towards Conwy. The valley opens up before you as you leave the mountains behind. The river becomes an estuary and the changing scenery along the shoreline will keep you in awe as you paddle towards the finish your epic self powered journey at the World Heritage listed Conwy Castle. This famous castle continues to dominate the town and the mouth of the Conwy River, as it’s done ever since Edward I first planted it here in the late 13th century. It marks the perfect place to disembark your pack-raft and the chance to venture into this historic walled town to enjoy some fresh local mussels, fish & chips or even a pint on the quay before being transferred back to your starting point at Betws-y-Coed.

This adventure allows you to experience Snowdonia from a completely unique perspective, away from the crowds and gain real local flavour from the Adventurous Ewe Team who’s hometown is Conwy.

Included

Meals: Breakfast
Equipment: Single pack-raft, buoyancy aid and paddle
Transfer: Return from Conwy to Betws-y-Coed if needed
