Training & prep

In our mission to ensure you get the most out of your Adventurous Ewe experience and navigate the paths ahead as safely as possible, we’ll provide you with a bespoke training guide packed with plenty of tips and recommendations when you sign up for a trip.

To give you an idea of the areas to specifically focus on for an adventure, check out the top 5 areas below:

  • Aerobic fitness/endurance
  • Stretching
  • Core strength
  • Good ole gritty determination
  • Healthy eating

So, preparation is key to ensure that you get the most enjoyment and reward from your adventure. You want to arrive at your at the start of your trip full of excitement and knowing that you’re ready to tackle the route ahead, not be plagued with unnecessary fear and worry. With being outdoors, you’ll also be facing Mother Nature in her rawest and you want to be able to put up a good fight. The human body is an amazing tool and can adapt and endure much more than we often give it credit for – but it will really thank you for giving it a head start before you take the first steps on your adventures.

So with saying that, we’re thrilled to have partnered with both Her Spirit, inspiring EVERY woman to become fitter, stronger and healthier, and Peter Lant Training & Philosophy

The sheep factor – biodegradable kit from Ashmei

Adventurous Ewe Team and Ashmei

As part of our commitment to sustainable and ethical operations, all our beloved Adventurous Ewe crew are kitted out in merino based AE t-shirts supplied from ashmei.

Merino wool is peerless when it comes to performance: it is anti-bacterial, non-itchy, warm when it is cold and cooling when it is warm and most importantly it is recyclable and sustainable. Synthetic materials are bad for the environment, not only because of the petrochemicals used to manufacture them, but also because of the aggressive chemicals required to clean them and remove the stink factor. They are not easily recycled and usually end up in land fill. Not so for merino wool, the source could not be more natural. There are no requirements for chemicals to keep the nasty smells at bay and after years of use, they can be recycled or they are completely biodegradable. Ashmei only source Merino Wool from happy sheep. They have hundreds of acres of land to explore, encounter no artificial chemicals and are NEVER mulesed. Ashmei consider this to be a very important part of our mission to create high-performance sportswear ethically and sustainably.

We love a happy sheep and a great eco-friendly yarn here at Adventurous Ewe! Go the sheep!
