Trekking Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) at 1,085 metres during the afternoon will reward you with a memorable summit experience of one of the UK’s most iconic peaks via the most gradual route of the Llanberis Path. This is a great opportunity to experience this iconic mountain trek accompanied by friendly local Mountain Leaders. Plus, it will be a challenge to remember as you enjoy the company and camraderie of your fellow trekkers in support of The Katie Piper Foundation. This is your chance to climb to new heights and help make a brighter future for all survivors of burns and scars.

The Katie Piper Foundation

The Katie Piper Foundation, established in 2009 by burns survivor Katie Piper OBE, is a leading charity in the UK providing burns rehabilitation, dedicated to supporting people who have experienced life-altering burns and scarring.

We aim to improve survivors’ quality of life by supporting them physically, mentally, and emotionally through a personalised rehabilitation programme, whether the injury is recent or many years ago.

Our support is informed by lived experience, and led by a specialised, expert team so that we can support survivors, their families, and their loved ones through their journey of recovery.

We rely on fundraising by people like you to help us deliver our vital personalised rehabilitation support, which is life-changing and a lifeline for so many. We are the only burns rehabilitation charity in the UK to offer ongoing support for those affected by the devastating trauma of burns.

It takes seconds for a life to be altered forever. It only takes seconds to donate.

Day 1
Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) Trek via the Llanberis Path

Meet your local Mountain Leader and fellow team members at 09.30am at the Snowdon Railway Station (Llanberis, LL55 4TY). Here you’ll have a short briefing prior to starting your trekking journey.

In the morning you’ll ascend via the most gradual route of Snowdon, the Llanberis Path, allowing you the opportunity to admire the views across the vast mountainous landscapes. On reaching the summit there’s plenty of time to celebrate your summit success.

You’ll then start your descent via the same path returning to the town of Llanberis.

On completing this trek you then have the option to either stay overnight and explore the area the following day or you can return home if you live nearby. All being well, you should complete this trek by 3pm/4pm. We do not recommend driving long distances following the completion of this trek.

This trek is ideal for people who are new to mountain trekking or whom want to experience Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) within a safe environment with being accompanied by Local Mountain Leaders.

Trek distance: 14.5km (9 miles) round trip
Ascent: 975 metres
Terrain: well maintained gradual path with some steep sections. Please note, there is a steep tarmac section at the start of the trek which leads you on to the mountain itself.

Please note, Adventurous Ewe reserves the right to change the route or itinerary for safety reasons should local conditions dictate.

While the Llanberis Path is often described as the ‘easiest route to the summit’, you should never underestimate any of the routes to the peak of Yr Wyddfa. Reaching the summit of Yr Wyddfa is a challenging undertaking. The  National Park Authority classifies Llanberis Path as a hard and strenuous route. A good level of fitness is required to enable you to enjoy this trekking experience.
