Tackle the highest mountain in England and Wales under a blanket of the night sky. Upon your descent you will enjoy the awe-inspiring views across Snowdonia National Park and marvel at the distance you covered under the night sky. Please make your own way to Llanberis, Gwynedd, North Wales. You can either drive or catch a train. The closest train station is Bangor with direct trains leaving from London Euston, Crewe and Chester and non direct trains are available from other rail stations across the UK. It’s a 20 minute taxi journey from Bangor to Llanberis.

Night trek - Sunday 18 September
Snowdon by Night Trek

02:30am – Trek Registration and Briefing
Royal Victoria Hotel, Llanberis, LL55 4TY

03:30am – Trek start
It’s then time to switch on your head torch and set foot along the trail to the summit of Snowdon. Accompanied by your friendly and local Adventurous Ewe Mountain Leader, you’ll ascend via the Llanberis Path, the most gradual and clearest hiking route to the peak of Wales’ highest mountain.

Under a blanket of night sky filled with stars and the glow of the moon, your route winds it’s way towards the summit of Snowdonia National Park. The Park Authority has ensured an International Dark Sky Reserve status for Snowdonia of which there are just ten of these magical reserves in the world. Meaning that on a clear night you can see the Milky Way, all the major constellations, nebulas (bright clouds of gas and dust) and shooting stars. And that’s not all, once near or at the summit you’ll have the chance to marvel at a most spectacular sunrise as the early morning glow starts to illuminate the surrounding mountainous landscape. There’s plenty of time to take photos and celebrate your summit achievement before descending back down via the same route to the Royal Victoria Hotel for a lite breakfast.

Please note, Adventurous Ewe reserves the right to change the route or itinerary for safety reasons should local conditions dictate. Given that you are trekking at night we would ask that you respect both the local neighbourhood and guests at the hotel and please remain quiet when in these areas.
