We’re here and you’re in safe hands

As we’re all too aware, COVID-19 has forced a monumental shift in the tourism and events industry. Though as we look towards the UK and the rest of the globe starting to navigate new paths with reopening, we have taken the time to carefully consider what will, but more importantly how we can step back into the world of adventure; safely, reassuringly and with your essential trust.

So with the new normal of social distancing and increased hygiene regimes together with our continued determination of supporting local and global communities and the environment, here’s what Adventurous Ewe has put in place so you step back into the world of adventure starting with great experiences right here in the UK….

Safety and well-being

Adventurous Ewe puts the safety and well-being of you, our leaders & crew and the communities we visit at the centre of all our operations, always. Your safety and well-being is our top priority and as such, feel confident that we now have new operational procedures in place for your protection and that of our crew. For more details, feel free to check out our new guidelines in place here.

Good To Go | Adventurous Ewe
Small group travel

We continue to pride ourselves in small group travel to minimise the impact on the environment, to maximise your safety & well-being and to make your experience more authentic.

For all our UK events there will only be a maximum of 10 people in a group accompanied by one of our qualified leaders. There’s plenty of space in the beautiful landscapes across the UK to easily maintain social distancing whether you’re hiking, biking or paddling.

Snowdon Bike and Hike Challenge

Short adventure breaks

Initially it’s all about stay-cations and short adventure breaks in the UK, whether they be one, two or a few days. We live in a country steeped with incredible landscapes, the perfect setting to providing amazing discovery and adventure experiences.

We’re really proud to be working with the Snowdonia National Park Authority as their primary concern is the general public, the environment and sustainable operations, and also under the guidance of the British Mountaineering Council and the Welsh Government.

When it’s time for Wales to reopen again, we’re ready with a whole host of exciting adventures for you. From the classics such as the Welsh 15 Peaks (epic 3 day mountain trek), the Snowdon Triple Challenge (1 day bike, hike & kayak), Snowdon Trek (day or night) or Gorge Walking (1 day walking, scrambling and swimming); to the brand new adventures such as the Top to Tail Wales Bike Ride (3 day cycling challenge), Snowdonia Packrafting Adventure (2 day packraft, hike and wildcamp) or the Snowdonia Bike & Hike (1 day sea to summit journey). Feel free to visit our website or get in touch for more info.

Accommodation options

We’ve updated our UK travel packages so that you have the option to use either our accommodation places or you’re welcome to make your own arrangements such as AirBNB, campsites or cottage bookings, etc. Whatever you feel comfortable with, we’re happy to facilitate. Rest assured, our local accommodation places will have new operating procedures in place to ensure your health and well-being.

Adventure with purpose, supporting local and global charities

Now more than ever our commitment to continue our support the environmental and sustainability charities, Cool Earth and the Snowdonia Society, is more important and we do so with mountainous levels of passion. We’ll continue to contribute a % from every booking to Cool Earth and maintain our partnership with the Snowdonia Society. It’s time that we all live in a more responsible world, therefore not only will you have a fabewelous experience when you travel with Adventurous Ewe, you can take pride in knowing that you are helping support both these fantastic causes.

Training and preparation

We’re here to help you to start preparing for your next adventure and as such have developed new training programmes relevant for each different trip. These programmes also have guidelines for training during the current times we’re all facing.

We’re also delighted to have teamed up with fellow sheepie and the hugely enthusiastic personal trainer, Peter Lant, from the Bath Kettlebell Society. On top of his different training packages, Peter has developed a 28-day training programme focused on strength and endurance, two key aspects for adventure prep. This programme is available through an easy to use bespoke app and can be done in the comfort of your own home or outdoors and is combined with top nutritional advice. As an exciting offer, there’s a 20% discount available for anyone who’s signed up to do an Adventurous Ewe trip two. For more info or to check out some top tips, click here.

Travel app

In our quest to do what we can to help the planet, we’ve gone paperless. This means when you book with us, you’ll receive all your exciting trip info via our mobile travel app which is free to download and bespoke to you. You’ll have access to all your trip info, training guide, exciting countdowns, live updates, contact info, weather forecasts, kit lists and much more at the touch of a button 24/7 via your mobile phone. No more unnecessary use of reams of paper and the need of carrying around documents with you, A’ppy days.

New monthly direct debit payment plan

We appreciate that many of you have unwillingly been thrust into the world of furlough, reduced working hours, working from home, or even faced workplace closures. Therefore, we have set up a new monthly direct debit payment plan so you can pay via instalments which will hopefully make escaping on an adventure a reality for you and not just a dream. We use WorldPay who handle all our online payments. It’s a payment platform which is a global leader in payment processing offering superior security for both you and us as a company.

Also, a friendly reminder that all bookings can be made online with Mastercard, Visa and debit card or via BACS too.

Total flexibility

Most trips now offer free date changes and free cancellation up to 60 days before departure – any deposit paid will simply be held as credit to be used on a different trip instead. Plus, we no longer charge any admin fees for trip transfers like a lot of other tour operators. We aim to make it as flexible, reasonable and simple for you.

If another pandemic were to emerge, you’ll have the option to have your deposit refunded or transferred to a later date or another trip, no problems.

Adventurous Ewe Financial Guarantee

Any monies paid to Adventurous Ewe for a trip are immediately placed into a Trust account and not used for the day-to-day operations of the company. So, in the unlikely event of our insolvency, money paid in respect of future travel will be refunded, in full. This pledge has been honoured since the foundation of Adventurous Ewe in 2007. No client has suffered financial loss whilst travelling with us.

Financial security

Rest assured, your money is safe in any and all circumstances. There has been and always will be full financial protection on your booking. If your adventure needs to be cancelled for any reason, like say a global pandemic, you won’t be left stuck and you’ll be offered plenty of alternative options thanks to our financial protection through our insurance. What’s more, in the very unlikely event of Adventurous Ewe going under, you’ll get your money back and be repatriated if you were on a trip at the time.

Adventurous Ewe Ltd is a company committed to customer satisfaction and consumer financial protection. We are therefore pleased to announce that, at no extra cost to you, and in accordance with ” The Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018” all passengers booking with Adventurous Ewe Ltd are fully insured for the initial deposit, and subsequently the balance of monies paid as detailed in your booking confirmation form. The policy will also include repatriation if required, arising from the cancellation or curtailment of your travel arrangements due to the insolvency of Adventurous Ewe Ltd.  This insurance has been arranged by Towergate Travel through Zurich Insurance PLC.

Taking on an adventure is a great way to reconnect with like-minded people whilst creating some amazing memories.
